My favourite Beaches on the North Side of the Island

Witihin 15 minute drive from Ambelos, there are three amazing beaches Tsabou, Lemonakia, and Tsamadou. We are on the North side of the island, so all the beaches are stone, not sand. This makes for very clear water, and not sand in your "gitch".

View - First Pic

Here is a view from what is called the "aloni", it where people from the lower part of the village (kato yitonia) park their cars. As you can see, the terrain is lush, typical of the North Side of the Island.

Welcome

Hi there,

Over the years I have collected a lot of memories, pictures, etc from the village of Ambelos in Samos and I wanted to put some information up on a blog as a way to share them with family, friends, and whoever else is interested. Both my parents are from Ambelos, and I have a connection with the village, and the Island of Samos in general. I should have started this blog a long time ago as I visit Samos at a rate of almost once a year nowadays. Hopefully people can learn a bit more about the village and the island through the eyes of a First Generation Greek Canadian. My opinions are unique, and I will excuse myself up front as I love to party, lay on the beach, and just hang out in the Cafenio (Taverna). I do have a family, a lovely wife, and two kids who I drag to Ambelos as often as I can so they can fall in love with the place that I call "My Village"
